Trailblazing Actress & Warrior Tantoo Cardinal

In Episode 32, we get to hear from a real warrior and trailblazing Indigenous actress Tantoo Cardinal. Tantoo is known as “the most widely recognized native actress of her generation” with no wonder. She has appeared in over 100 movies and television programs!

Most of you will recognize her from movies like Dances with Wolves, Black Robe, Legends of the Fall and most recently where she holds the lead role in Falls Around Her. She has also been featured in numerous TV shows like Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, North of 60, Moccasin Flats, Blackstone, Mohawk Girls and the Netflix series Frontier.

In this podcast, Tantoo talks to us about her Indigenous heritage, why she got into acting and shares a powerful message of hope for native youth.
